A Cup of Comfort

This thanksgiving is being spent at my moms. The cold weather has forced time inside spent by the fireplace drinking warm cups of happiness. Bentley has found his favorite place at grandmas as well. He is often found laying in front of the fire place on his back enjoying the warmth; its absolutely adorable. My three brothers will be arriving today with their families; so my relaxing and being lazy will end and it will be time to play with my adorable niece and nephew.

It has been so nice to get away from school and be on vacation. We have done a little bit of shopping while here but mostly relaxing, cooking and getting ready for the big feast tomorrow.
Words cannot describe how grateful I am for my family and every chance I get to be with them.

This morning I was looking through some baby photos of myself and my mom. I came across these two pictures and fell in love. Its amazing how much my mom and I looked alike when we were younger and to this day you can definitely see the resemblance. I think its a blessing since my mom is absolutely beautiful.

Time to go sit by the fire and drink more peppermint hot chocolate :) Its hard to be me....
More pictures coming soon!

Searching....

So with Thanksgiving quickly approaching I have felt some pressure (from myself of course) to start making a christmas list. I have to admit I am pretty spoiled and find myself somehow getting gifts along the way...but I do have a few wishes so here are my most recent finds; boots.

Finding the perfect black boots has been a challenge so I figured what a perfect time to find them! I have been looking for some that I can dress up or down, are comfortable, and practical for snow...

So here are my top few all found at Nordstrom....

The first ones are Miz Moozs. I have a pair of Mary Jane-ish heels from them and they are super comforable.

The next ones are over the knee, which im not sure ill love on myself..well have to see! They are BP and are "Ginger"

These ones might be the winners...They are by Enzo Angiolini and are on sale! Amazing!

On sunday we are heading to Boise for thanksgiving at my moms. Of course we will be doing some shopping so Im sure my Christmas list will grow even more..and hopefully my internet browsing for boots will come to an end. Its not as fun to look online than trying on in the stores. I go through withdrawls of not having a good mall close by, something I really miss about living in the Bay Area. It will be so good to be in a city where there is a mall equipped with everything I need...2 days and counting.

A Weekend Spent with Family

Last weekend Jon and I traveled up to Coeur D'Alene to spend the weekend with family and celebrate his Mom's birthday. The weekend was spent eating good food, sitting around chatting, a little shopping, and just enjoying one anothers company. Northern Idaho has become a paradise for me. Going up there to be with family in the trees takes me away from reality. I feel so blessed to have married into such an amazing family, I could not have wished for better. The weekend was so relaxing and fun, it was too short of a visit! Spending the weekend with family got me so excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas! Family, relaxing, shopping, and good food...I cant wait!

Winter Wonderland

The first big snow. I awoke this morning with feelings of dread thinking to myself im gonna freeze, I cant go out there, I hate Rexburg, wheres the sun!? But I got up anyways and set off on my day. As I was driving down the street observing the snow filled trees and white fields a realization came over me, the snow is really beautiful. Never in a million years would I, a California girl, imagine myself thinking this. At that moment my attitude changed. I am no longer dreading the winter, I am going to make the best of it. Weather is not something which we can control or change, so I must embrace it. I now feel that snow is something enchanted and refreshing. So winter here in Rexburg isnt going to be so bad after all. Let it snow!

November 6, 2010

Today I decided Im going to blog. I am going to share my thoughts, experiences, and passions with anyone who is interested in reading. I have a blessed life that at times may seem uneventful or even boring but to me its reality. I am happily married to my best friend. We have a cozy house with a little white dog, Bentley. He is very spoiled and our child for now. Although our days are filled with school and studying our nights are filled with warmth and cuddling on our couch, hanging out with our best friends, playing with our doggy, and enjoying one another. Any other free time I have is spent cooking, decorating, shopping, (dreaming of what Id like to be shopping for), crafting headbads for my line JMarie Accessories, and spending time with the ones I love. So here it goes...let the journal begin of my life as Jennelle Marie Pluid; a wife, daughter, student, and friend.
