Megs Came to Town

This past weekend Megan (Jon's sister) who personally I am a big fan of came to visit us. Jon was in school Friday so Megan and I filled our day with shopping, lunching, and lots of chatting.

Saturday we headed downtown for Voodoo Doughnuts (a Portland hot spot, and must do). Voodoo is lets just say an experience. They have all sorts of funky doughnuts; whatever you can think of is pretty much on or in a doughnut. Its a fun little place!

Then we headed to the street market for some ultimate people watching and entertainment. The highlight for us was a trash can drummer...he was amazing. We could have watched him all day long! It was true talent at its finest.

The day was completed with a tour of the dental school. I must admit I was a little freaked out the entire time...usually I'm not a wuss..but Ill just blame it on the pregnancy. The combination of an empty building, dark halls, lots of bones EVERYWHERE, and rooms filled with cadavers was not on my top ten list for the day. But I do love seeing the husband so passionate and excited about his schooling and future profession, so it was worth being creeped out.

Our weekend wasn't super wild but we loved having Megs here and cant wait for her to come back soon!

Royal Rosarian Garden

A Portland favorite and a new fave of ours for sure; the Rose Gardens were the perfect spot for a sunday afternoon stroll a few weeks ago. We are constantly amazed with how green and luscious Portland is everywhere we go. The gardens just added to our list of beautiful finds. Jon and I were both in awe over how many colors, shapes, and sizes of roses there were. The best part? They are just one exit from our house. We are loving exploring Portland and feel that we haven't even made a dent in the city yet..our list of to do's is definitely a long one.
