bed+rest

Life has been pretty eventful in the Pluid household since last Tuesday. I had a normal Dr's apt to check on mommy and babies progress. To my surprise and I think my Dr.'s too I was dilated to a two. Since it was my 33 week apt this meant not good news for the two of us. I was sent up to labor and delivery and put on some monitors. Some small contractions and a few hours of hearing baby girls healthy heartbeat later we were sent home and put on bed rest. The next day I ended up back in labor and delivery after calling my doctor to make sure that the things I was feeling were normal...well apparently they weren't too "normal". I went through the same thing...had some more tests ran, then was sent home with some meds to stop the contractions and told to stay on bed rest and come back for my next apt. Baby girl has been consistently measuring three weeks ahead so maybe she is just thinking shes big enough to come join the world....well shes not! So I spent last week on bed rest being taken care of by my sweet husband, amazing friend Whitney, and lots of phone calls from family. Today I went back to the Dr.'s for a checkup and my cervix is at the dilation that it was, which is great news. I was informed that my little breech baby has her bum in my pelvis and a foot on my cervix...lovely placement little one. So here I am back on the couch for another week having conversations with this little one about how she needs to stay in my tummy and flip over....that'd be great right!? I am counting my blessings daily and am so thankful that she is strong and healthy...equipped with a mind of her own. Not sure who she gets that from.....

The past few weeks my life has been filled with quiet rainy days waiting for husband to get home from school; which has been the perfect time to work on projects. I have been keeping myself busy working on babies room and getting things ready for her arrival and realized the girl needs some accessories! So I busted out the felt and went to work. After I made some tiny ones for her little baby head, I started making them for my nieces for Christmas. All five of them will be decked out in cute felt flower headbands this winter. When we lived in Rexburg I sold my headbands in a little boutique on Main St. and I didn't realize then how therapeutic crafting is, probably because I was mass producing them but I love it! So bring it on rain! Me, Pandora, and my sugar cookie candle can now occupy our days inside tapping into our inner Martha.
