a good find

Today while Jon was off working hard I decided to venture out to find a farmers market. Farmers markets to me mean summer. I had my favorites back home and always loved strolling through them on a Saturday morning, tasting fresh produce and people watching. Not knowing where I was really going I put my trust in the gps. Good thing I did because the sometimes trusty little gadget took me to this quaint little down town and in the heart of it was a small farmers market. The fruit was amazing and the shops were filled to the top with all sorts of neat stuff. I came home with fresh fruit as desired and cant wait to enjoy every piece of it.

bursting at the seams

Yesterday I so briefly broke the news that were awaiting the arrival of a sweet little baby...thats not something that should be rushed! I have a hard time keeping things to myself and this one has been extremely hard to contain. When it finally hit Jon and I that it was a reality not just a dream, Jon lovingly looked at me and asked..."we know what were doing right?" I laughed and said, "well I hope so". I feel that as much as we may think we're prepared and that it is the right time we can never actually be prepared for what is to come. Parenthood is something that Jon and I have both been looking forward to for a long time, and finally it was just the right time to begin our own little family.

So what has life been like since the big news?
Well...I have been eating a lot of cereal and yogurt, hardly any meat unless its disguised, and craving Mexican food....so not much has changed there. Ok actually a lot has changed as far as appetite and feeling up to par has gone but I'm glad that precious stage is behind me. The second we found out Jon began downloading pregnancy apps on his phone...they send him updates regularly about what stage his pregnancy is in and whats happening in his body. It cracks me up but Im so glad that he is just as excited as I am. I just love him. We have started a journal for baby (ok I have actually, but I'd really like Jon to write in it too..he will, eventually) But he does really like the idea and is glad I'm doing it. I just thought it would be neat to have to look back and remember the pregnancy and for our little babe to know just how excited we were to have him/her in our life. I have started a small and I really do mean small collection of baby clothes. I just cant help it. And amazingly I have an equal amount of boy and girl clothes. Thanks to my mom who said that if I buy more of one kind (towards my bias desires) than I will jinx it! Surprisingly Jon and I are actually both leaning towards hoping its a girl. Me for obvious reasons...and Jon well its kind of a shocker to me. I have always wanted a boy first to be the protector of the siblings like I had...but I guess things change. We'll be happy with either though and are anxious to find out what it will be! Yes we are finding out.

It is such an exciting time and I am loving every second of it! I just cant wait to meet this little growing baby. Every since I can remember I have dreamed of being a momma. From my days of playing with baby dolls to babysitting and nannying I have longed for this time to come. And now that it is here I am so thankful for all the wonderful Mom's that have blessed my life through their examples. Most importantly I am so thankful for my mom and for her example of what it means to be an amazing mom. Its comforting to know that I have so many examples around me to help me along this journey.

2 + 1

It has been too long! Considering that it has almost been two months since my last post I figured it’s time for some updates on where we have been, and what we’ve been doing! Plus I have missed stalking my regular blogs and feeling enlightened and inspired.

WE GRADUATED and moved out of Rexburg. It was very bitter sweet. We will miss our friends, first house, and all the memories that were made there. However we will not miss the cold and I will not miss attending class everyday and studying my life away. Glad that chapter is over.

We have moved to the fabulous and HOT state of Texas. Well moved temporarily that is. All of our prized possessions are in storage and all we brought is whatever could fit in the trunk. It’s rather refreshing actually. Jon is busy working while I am working part time and trying to occupy the rest of my time with activities other than shopping. (Which is a difficult task since the shopping here it AMAZING!)

Jon got accepted to OHSU (Oregon Health and Science University) in Portland for dental school. We are so excited and are looking forward to starting the next chapter of our lives there. School starts in mid August so we will be moving…AGAIN….at the end of July.

I saved the best for last…

We are expecting. I am 13 weeks along and we could not be more excited! I am crossing my fingers that I am over the sick part and have moved into the belly growing stage. My first trimester really wasn't all that bad aside from nausea and not wanting anything to do with meat of any kind. Every day we become more excited for the adventure of parenthood and look forward to all that the future has in store. So this new addition has me shopping of course. But I have made a promise to myself…and the husband that I am DONE DONE DONE buying clothes until we find out what we are having. More updates on baby Pluid coming soon…and maybe I’ll even share some ultrasound pics as well :)

Therapy

The first step is admitting that you have a problem….

This weekend I traveled down to Utah to spend some time with my fam. My mom and I managed to find time daily to sneak away and do some shopping.

There are two things that I love SO MUCH in life and it is my momma and shopping. Put the two of them together and it’s a beautiful thing.

A little retail therapy is never a bad thing; Nordstrom, Ann Taylor, Banana, Nordstrom Rack, DSW…dreamy.

So all this shopping made me question “Is it bad that sometimes the only thing that can make me happy is shopping?” Not only does it make me happy but apparently it makes me look inside myself and ponder; two in one!

I have concluded that the answer to this is a big No. So yes it’s a little addiction of mine but it is causing ZERO harm, so I will continue to give into my vice. Of course there are many other joys in my life but clothes, shoes, and accessories all make it into my top 5.

So here is the debut of the new addition to my spring/summer wardrobe.

While we’re on the theme of shopping, I have been debating what to wear for graduation. Yes, I know it’ll be covered by the ugly black tent…Aka a graduation gown; I need something fabulous to wear underneath. I’m thinking something black and white with some colored shoes?….I’ll keep you all posted.

Ps If you remember the rosette wedges I was obsessed with a few months back, I finally tried them on when I was at Nordstrom…they are WAY too high, and it takes a lot for me to say that.

But its ok because I have a new obsession….

Beautiful Chaos

This past weekend was spent in Logan for a Pluid fam get together. There were 17 of us in attendance not counting our sister in law Kelly's side of the family. The occasion? Little baby Jackson's blessing. Jackson is Jon's brother Jacob and his wife Kelly's third boy, and he is absolutely adorable as you can see from the pics below. The cousins had such a fun time playing together and us adults enjoyed late night chats and lots and lots of laughing. It was so good to see Jacob and Kelly. They live in Iowa so we don't get many chances to see them. Jacob and I had only seen each other once (at Jon and I's wedding) and we didn't get much of a chance to chat and get to know each other, so a weekend of hanging out was much needed. Being with family is always a blast; I couldn't have gotten more lucky as far as in laws go.
I miss them all already.
Anyways, I thought I'd share a few pics from the weekend.

I felt that a little transition was needed between my
baby photoshoot and the fun noodle sword fighting in the garage and mandatory family get together wrestling match (Justin's new signature move).

Cant wait for the next family bash :)

Over It

Although I have enjoyed the 30 day blog challenge, I'm a bit over it so I decided that today I'd knock out all but 30. I'll save one for tomorrow.

Day 24 – A photo of something that means a lot to you

The Oakland California Temple…Where I married the man of my dreams.

Day 25 – What’s in your purse?

Not a lot…I actually cleaned it out yesterday. Perfect timing.

So inside is; my wallet, chapstick, lipgloss, lipliner, pepper spray (don’t mess with me), keys, a bracelet and sunglasses. With no stray pieces of gum, old receipts, trash and all that fun stuff that usually is the cause of stuff getting lost in my purse.

Day 26 – A photo of somewhere you’ve been to.

Heres my top three; Japan, Greece, and Hawaii.

This picture was taken in Santorini, Greece four years ago on a vacation I took with my Dad.

Day 27 – A picture of you last year and now and how have you changed since then?

How I’ve changed: I like to think that I have progressed in life and am constantly working towards being in a better place with who I am and the live I am blessed with. Other than that I’ve fallen more in love, got a dog, moved, gotten closer to completing college, met new friends, my hairs longer…nothing too life changing.

Day 28 – Your favorite movie.

The Notebook, that’s an easy one.

Day 29 – Something you could never get tired of doing.

Being with the people that I love.
