farm girl

This past week Jon had some time off of school so we voyaged to northern Idaho for some vaca time with family. While we were there we spent a night at a cute bed and breakfast where Brielle was able to find her inner farm girl. It was so fun to watch her take in her surroundings. She adored the animals. It brought me back to when I was a little girl growing up having lambs, goats, chickens, horses..u name it; we seemed to have it at one point or another. I was glad to see she had a little farm girl in there somewhere :)

six months

Heres our girl. I can hardly believe she is now 7 months old...yes I'm a little late doing a six month post.  She gets more fun by the day and seems to have more personality with each moment. I just can't get enough of her!

Cannon Beach

Mothers Day weekend we headed to Cannon Beach to soak up some sun. We love living close enough to the coast to take day trips with our girl. And she seems to be a fan too.

Next time maybe we will have a hat that actually fits her...

Giggles

4 Months Old

Here are some recent shots of our growing girl. At her appointment last week the scales showed that she is indeed chunking up. She went from being in the 30th percentile for everything but her head (thanks daddy) to being in the 75th for height and head and 45th for weight. Keep those rolls coming! Ive been waiting patiently for more chunk and I just can't get enough of it!

Brielle's top 10 list as of lately...
Her daddy
Her Sophie the giraffe teether aka Raffey
Bath time
Sitting in her bumbo looking in the mirror
Eating her hands
Pulling my hair
Eating
Taking long naps
Being rocked and sung to
Putting her legs or leggies as we call them up in the air
Thats her "I eat you" face

Brielles 3rd month in cell phone pictures

Here are my top 5 fave pictures taken over past few weeks. Three of which were taken on the same day (oh well). Time seems to be flying by and each day Brielle seems to be doing something new. Here are some updates....

She loves to eat her hands, they are pretty much the best thing ever

She still loves the bath and as long as it stays warm she could play in there forever

She is quite smiley and just this week had her first full on giggle which she rightfully saved for her daddy

She LOVES her daddy the second he comes home she is all smiles

She is rolling over, holding her head up, and getting stronger and stronger

She loves reading her animal book, playing with rattles, and her lamb puppet

She's getting more and more fun with each day!

Cute girl in the mirror

Brielle's morning routine involves a diaper change, feeding, then an hour of uninterrupted playtime. She wakes up every morning so happy and full of smiles. She lays on the couch and looks out the bright window, kicks her feet, and makes her adorable little noises all while watching the Today show with mom. It makes getting out of bed everyday worth it. After playtime is usually when we make our way to the bathroom for me to wash my face and maybe make myself look not so "hi, I have a baby and yes I sometimes shower" ish. Well just last week we got Brielle a Bumbo, so now rather than sitting in her bouncer I put her up on the counter (don't stress I never walk away while she's up there). I found that she adores the little girl in the mirror. She smiles and giggles and the fun morning continues. I just can't get enough of her. Its definitely become a new step in our routine.

Brielle's Blessing

Photobucket

Brielle's blessing day was a special one. Even though Brielle was fighting her first cold it went perfect; no episodes of any sort in her beautiful white dress! We were lucky to be surrounded by our wonderful families who traveled to Portland to share in her special day. Im so thankful for the men who were able to participate in her blessing. Most importantly I am thankful Brielle has such an amazing daddy.

Christmas

Our first Christmas as a family of three was spent at my moms in Boise. Although getting there (flying wih a three week old baby and a dog who had never flown before) was a bit of an adventure we were so glad we made the trip! Some of the highlights of the week were; everyone getting to meet and love on Brielle, moms good cooking, Christmas morning, arm wrestling matches, and just the fun of being together!

6 Weeks

These past six weeks have seriousy flown by! Everyday we fall more in love with our little girl and love every second spent with her. I finally feel like I have gotten the swing of things for the moment but I know that will probably change tomorrow.

So whats new with Brielle? Well...
She has outgrown most of her newborn clothes, so bitter sweet
She will look at our faces when we talk to her now...the first time she did it was amazing
She loves to sleep on her daddy's chest...its seriously her favorite, she would sleep there all day
She doesnt like to be put down....makes things a tad rough for mom...but I cant really complain
She loves bathtime and kicking her legs in the water
She loves to look at lights and windows
She is a pro at timing blow outs..malls, airplanes, church, long car rides...perfection
Pretty much shes just the best thing that ever happened to us

bed+rest

Photobucket

Life has been pretty eventful in the Pluid household since last Tuesday. I had a normal Dr's apt to check on mommy and babies progress. To my surprise and I think my Dr.'s too I was dilated to a two. Since it was my 33 week apt this meant not good news for the two of us. I was sent up to labor and delivery and put on some monitors. Some small contractions and a few hours of hearing baby girls healthy heartbeat later we were sent home and put on bed rest. The next day I ended up back in labor and delivery after calling my doctor to make sure that the things I was feeling were normal...well apparently they weren't too "normal". I went through the same thing...had some more tests ran, then was sent home with some meds to stop the contractions and told to stay on bed rest and come back for my next apt. Baby girl has been consistently measuring three weeks ahead so maybe she is just thinking shes big enough to come join the world....well shes not! So I spent last week on bed rest being taken care of by my sweet husband, amazing friend Whitney, and lots of phone calls from family. Today I went back to the Dr.'s for a checkup and my cervix is at the dilation that it was, which is great news. I was informed that my little breech baby has her bum in my pelvis and a foot on my cervix...lovely placement little one. So here I am back on the couch for another week having conversations with this little one about how she needs to stay in my tummy and flip over....that'd be great right!? I am counting my blessings daily and am so thankful that she is strong and healthy...equipped with a mind of her own. Not sure who she gets that from.....

October 6, 2011

The past few weeks my life has been filled with quiet rainy days waiting for husband to get home from school; which has been the perfect time to work on projects. I have been keeping myself busy working on babies room and getting things ready for her arrival and realized the girl needs some accessories! So I busted out the felt and went to work. After I made some tiny ones for her little baby head, I started making them for my nieces for Christmas. All five of them will be decked out in cute felt flower headbands this winter. When we lived in Rexburg I sold my headbands in a little boutique on Main St. and I didn't realize then how therapeutic crafting is, probably because I was mass producing them but I love it! So bring it on rain! Me, Pandora, and my sugar cookie candle can now occupy our days inside tapping into our inner Martha.

Megs Came to Town

This past weekend Megan (Jon's sister) who personally I am a big fan of came to visit us. Jon was in school Friday so Megan and I filled our day with shopping, lunching, and lots of chatting.

Saturday we headed downtown for Voodoo Doughnuts (a Portland hot spot, and must do). Voodoo is lets just say an experience. They have all sorts of funky doughnuts; whatever you can think of is pretty much on or in a doughnut. Its a fun little place!

Then we headed to the street market for some ultimate people watching and entertainment. The highlight for us was a trash can drummer...he was amazing. We could have watched him all day long! It was true talent at its finest.

The day was completed with a tour of the dental school. I must admit I was a little freaked out the entire time...usually I'm not a wuss..but Ill just blame it on the pregnancy. The combination of an empty building, dark halls, lots of bones EVERYWHERE, and rooms filled with cadavers was not on my top ten list for the day. But I do love seeing the husband so passionate and excited about his schooling and future profession, so it was worth being creeped out.

Our weekend wasn't super wild but we loved having Megs here and cant wait for her to come back soon!
